Welcome to Shikpath Travels. By booking a tour or utilizing any of our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please review them carefully.
1. Booking & Reservation Policy
- Advance Payment: A minimum advance payment of 30% to 50% (depending on the tour package) of the total tour cost is required to confirm a booking.
- Balance Clearance: The remaining balance must be cleared before the commencement of the tour or upon arrival, as specified in your booking confirmation.
- Special Bookings: Special train or flight ticket bookings must be paid 100% in advance.
- Availability: All bookings are subject to availability at the time of reservation.
2. Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that plans can change. Cancellations must be communicated to us in writing via email. Refunds will be processed based on the following timeline:
- 30+ days before arrival: 10% cancellation charge on the total package cost.
- 15 to 29 days before arrival: 25% cancellation charge on the total package cost.
- 7 to 14 days before arrival: 50% cancellation charge on the total package cost.
- Less than 7 days or No Show: 100% cancellation charge (No Refund).
Note: Refunds are typically processed within 7-10 business days. Hotel or airline specific cancellation policies may override our general policy.
3. Itinerary Changes & Flexibility
Shikpath Travels reserves the right to alter the tour itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances such as extreme weather conditions, landslides, road closures, political strikes, or flight/train cancellations.
In such events, we will attempt to provide the best alternative options. Any additional costs incurred due to these unavoidable modifications must be borne by the client.
4. Travel Documents & Verification
- Guests must carry valid photo identification (Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License) at all times during the trip. PAN cards are not accepted as valid ID proofs in certain regions like Sikkim or Bhutan.
- Foreign nationals must carry their original Passports with valid Visas and required inner-line permits.
- Shikpath Travels is not responsible for any delays, rejections, or boarding denials due to incomplete or invalid travel documents.
5. Liability & Responsibility
Shikpath Travels acts purely as a travel agent for transporting, lodging, and organizing sightseeing. We shall not be held liable for:
- Any loss of property, damage, or injury caused during the tour.
- Delays or alterations in the program due to natural hazards, accidents, machinery breakdown, or traffic congestion.
- Any additional expenses incurred due to flight or train delays/cancellations.
6. Medical Conditions & Fitness
Some of our tours (particularly in high-altitude areas like Sikkim or Darjeeling) require a reasonable level of physical fitness. It is the responsibility of the traveler to ensure they are medically fit to undertake the journey. Please consult a physician before traveling to high-altitude destinations.
7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising in connection with this agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Siliguri, West Bengal.
